Where do you put the pword on your laptop to stop people from stealing wireless internet?

i just got a laptop its a toshiba and i have a home computer too with a router or whatever you call it im not very good with computer but i just got the wireless internet on my laptop and i wanted to know where i put the encrypted pword on my laptop and on my home computer so that people outside of my house cant steal the wireless internet? the router thing i have is a 2wire 2701 HG-B if that helps anyone pleaseee help any questions please ask ill do my best to explain or clarify any thing
