How are thermofoil, HPL, Melamine similar and different?

thermofoil s a high density form of melamine, its a lot thicker and much more durable.melamine is paper thin and scratches easily. on kitchen cabinets for example.......the doors would be a raised panel made of manufactured board and coated with thermofoil and the sides inside and Out would be melamine.
