The military expenditure of the United Sates is 687,105,000,000 in 2010. Why not TEMPORARILY cut it?

Or just stop handing out huge fat checks to military contractors like it was Christmas. A lot of that money goes to waste on overly expensive projects that never see the light of day and get scrapped.
