I need ideas for attaching vinyl cove base so it can be removed??

Here's the deal: There is about an inch or so space between my bottom of my washer and the floor. Recently, some socks got from the floor under the washer and then up into the machinery of my washer, causing expensive repairs. To prevent this from happening again, I got some used cove base (flexible vinyl type) that I want to attach all around the bottom of the washer. The plan is that the lip of the cove base will rest on the floor, providing a barrier so that nothing can get under the washer. But I'd like to attach the cove base in such a way that it's removable if/when the washer needs to be taken out for repair. I thought of self adhesive velcro..........? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
