How do you get past the first part with the snakes in Well of souls from Indiana jones lego game?

stand on the wooden plank with a highlighted circle as Indy. Use the whip to extend a bridge. Get Salah to jump over push the tall thing on the right side. A torch will appear. Grab the torch, then jump into the water with it... it will scare the snakes and Indy will be able to cross over.
