How and why did kate die on ncis?

she was shot. i watched that episode, when it came out, and it went right through her forehead. total shocker. i don't remember what was happening... i like watching NCIS, more so than any other show.... you can get the episode, at ABC.com... or CBS.com... i forgot which one it comes on, but they have full episodes that you can watch, minus the commercials. sort of cool.
