Can a person who is facing a manditory 5-10yr sentence get probation in certain cirstances?

Wrong place at wrong time in 2008, riding with a friend of a friend,who had drugs his car, but i was driving, becuz he was a lil toxicated. in 2009 went to motion to supress evidence.. that was granted, and i came home in april 2009, and in june of 09, i started working at the philadelphia fire dept,and still currently employed, no kind of trouble what so ever since then. is it possible that the judge could say probation or is that unheard of? my laywer says it is a small chance that he may grant probation.
